AUTHORITY & TRUST
QUALITY & VALUE
Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE)

Human activities will produce ozone-depleting substances (ODS), such as chlorofluorocarbons, halons and methyl bromide, which have a significant destructive effect on the ozone layer. ODS is widely used, including the production or use of refrigerators, air conditioners, electronic products, fire-fighting equipment, tobacco, foam plastics, hair gel and pesticides. CTI can provide a complete set of ODS testing for Montreal Protocol, EU ODS regulations and China Controlled Ozone Depleting Substances List.

Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE)

Business Challenges

Is my product under the control of WEEE?

What kind of EEE products does my product belong to? What is the recovery rate target?

Service Background

On July 24, 2012, the European Union issued a new directive, 2012/19/EU on Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE), which took effect on August 13, 2012. The new directive requires that from August 15, 2018, almost all electronic and electrical products (EEEs) should be controlled according to the six categories specified in Annex III of the directive.

The requirements for EEE manufacturers mainly include three aspects: 1) EEE products need to meet the requirements for material reuse and recovery rates in the product categories specified in Part 3 of Appendix V;2) The Directive requires EU member states to draft a register of producers in accordance with paragraph 2, including producers who provide EEE through telecommunication. The register shall be used to monitor compliance with the requirements of this Directive. Producers providing EEE by means of telecommunication shall register in the Member State where their sales target is located (separate registration in each country ). If such producers are not registered in the Member State where their sales target is located, they shall register through their authorized representatives.3) EEE products must be labeled with trash cans.

The 3R evaluation report is an evaluation report, not a test report. Our 3R evaluation service also does not involve any chemical test.

2. How long is the period of 3R evaluation?

The routine period of 3R evaluation is 10 working days. For complex products, please ask CTI Test service window to evaluate the period according to the complexity of the sample.
