New Certification Updates for December:

1. Saudi Arabia SASO will start RoHS requirement for communication and information technology equipment on December 31st, 2022. The next category implemented is lighting equipment which will start March 31st, 2023.

2. India MeitY issued Notification that extended the implementation date of new standard IS 16333 (Part 3): 2022 for Indian Language for Mobile Phone Handsets from December 17th, 2022, to June 17th, 2023.

3. India TEC issued an announcement that extended the implementation date of some test parameters and all Energy Consumption Rating (ECR) requirements, exemption until June 30th, 2023.

4. India TEC published a notice on November 1st, 2022, shifting 7 product categories from General Certification Scheme (GCS) to Simplified Certification Scheme (SCS). The effective date will be January 1st, 2023.

5. Vietnam MOST published new Energy Effiiency standards for the below products, expected enforcement date is January 1st, 2025.

6. Thailand TISI will mandate the new standard TIS 183-2562 (2019) of Glow Starters for Fluorescent Lamps on February 15th, 2023, and old standard TIS 183-2547 will no longer be accepted.

7. Chile SEC released new standard PE Nº 1/38:2022 for external batteries and chargers for household or similar use. The effective date is March 31st, 2024. The relevant test standards are IEC 60335-2-29:2019 and IEC 60335-1:2016.
