New Certification Updates for October:
1. On September 6th, 2022, Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones Chile SUBTEL updated Resolución 1985 Exenta with Resolución 2844 Exenta for Short Range Devices (SRD).
2. Chile SEC released new standard PE_1-19:2021 for domestic room heaters. The effective date is November 30th, 2022, and all products will need to retest according to this new standard.
3. Philippine NTC issued Order No. 006-09-2022, effective September 29th, 2022. To protect mobile phone users from text scams, mobile phone manufacturers, distributors and dealers are to have directions on how to block texts from numbers not in their contact list, create a spam folder and enable/disable such features.
4. Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) released a new Class Assignment which is already in effect.
5. The Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) published TS CD-SEC, technical specification for security requirements to guard against network storms for cellular devices.
6. Nigerian NCC now only allows family/serial applications for 3 product categories, all others will be one model per certificate.
